Capturing moments & living in 'the now'

I haven't had time to reflect over this year and that it's actually December next week - the last month of the year! It's crazy how fast the years go by when you get older, and it's so important to take a second, or two, to be in the 'now'.

I love to capture moments, and it could be absolutely everything from something silly Ollie does, Matthew sleeping (yes I'm a creep), a stroll in the park or a roadtrip. Every single photo of a moment brings me back, and a lot of photos hold a sentimental value to them.

There is too many people that are stuck in their world of social media. They forget to value the moments they are in.

However, sometimes it's important to put away your camera or phone. To just be present in the moment you're in, show people that you hear them, that you see them, and value to be there with them. There is too many people that are stuck in their world of social media. They forget to value the moments they are in. It's okay to want to keep a memory by snapping a few photos, but don't get lost and end up focusing more on the edit of the photo, the likes or what caption to write. In the end you live here, not there. Appreciate the people around you.

I will have moments where I decide to put away my phone. I never bring it with me on our evening walks, because it is our time to talk about how the day has been, or anything else that comes to mind. During dinners I make sure to put away the phone as it's not a moment to sit and play with your phone, it's a moment to enjoy both the food and your company.

This is a photo I just adore, and it's funny because it's really capturing what this post is all about - capturing a moment. The person who took this photo has captured a generation of people who are all used to their phones and to record and take pictures during a concert. In the middle of the photo you see an older lady, someone that never grew up with technology of this kind, and probably back in the days just enjoyed the concert without the stress of having to record or take pictures. A good example of living in the now!
